Welcome to Wimington Sleep Apnea by Atlantic Dental Group
While snoring has widely been acknowledged as a nuisance and a social problem, more recent research indicates that consistent snoring may also increase the risk of stroke and is predominantly linked to a serious health condition known as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). OSA, left untreated, can potentially lead to serious health problems (listed below) and may ultimately subtract up to 12 years from normal life expectancy. Furthermore, to treat only snoring, without first ruling out the possible co-existence of OSA, is considered less than optimal care. Such action can be compared to "turning off the alarm" without first addressing the more serious issue of an unknown fire.
Atlantic Dental Group has served the dental needs of the greater Wilmington area for over 50 years. The doctors and staff have built strong, trusted relationships with their loyal family of patients. Excellence, professionalism, high quality dental care and patient comfort are our goals, as we provide comprehensive and esthetically driven dentistry for our patients. We are proud of our sustained 5-star customer service rating. Our entire staff makes every effort to ensure that each of your experiences in our office is a positive one.
ADG was one of the first dental practices in the region to offer Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) as a first line therapy for mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This therapy is also a viable alternative for patients with severe OSA, who are CPAP intolerant. We have always offered our patients the convenience of full service, comprehensive dental care and now, with the addition of our Dental Sleep Medicine program, we can provide an excellent alternative therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
